Abingdon Wine Estate

is located in the picturesque KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, a unique pioneering estate which has positioned itself as a serious single vineyard boutique wine producer in the geographical unit of KZN. The farm was bought in 2000 by owners and winemakers, Ian & Jane Smorthwaite, and the first vines were planted in 2004. Situated at 1100m above sea level, the estate has in excess of 3ha under vine and this includes the only certified single vineyards in the entire Kwa-Zulu Natal region.

Tasting Room & Wine Sales

Abingdon opened their very popular tasting room and restaurant overlooking the vineyard in August 2009. It is open Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays for tastings and deliciously fresh lunches. Visits and wine sales on weekdays by prior arrangement only. The venue may be booked for private and corporate functions too.
